Hello, Good-Bye

The lyrics to this song was written by Michael W. Smith, which makes me wonder if he is part of the club. We had this on Micah's program and changed just one word. I want to share it with you, as it is so true.

Where's the navigator of your destiny
Where is the dealer of this hand
Who can explain
Life and its brevity
'Cause there is nothing here
That I can understand
You and I
Have barely met
And I just don't want to let go of you yet.

Micah, hello goodbye
I'll see you on the other side
Micah, sweet child of mine
I'll see you on the other side

And so I hold your tiny hand in mine
For the hardest thing I've ever had to face
Heaven calls for you
Before it calls for me
When you get there save me a place
A place where I can share your smile
And I can hold you for more than just awhile.

Micah, hello goodbye
I'll see you on the other side
Micah, sweet child of mine
I'll see you on the other side

This morning as Zane slept in our bed, til 7:30!!!! I was reminded again how wonderful of a gift he is to us and how much Micah has touched our lives and hearts. Thank you Lord for both of our sons. Thank you that you gave us the honor of raising Zane for you. Please help us do a job worthy of you. Thank you for caring for Micah better than we could. I know I will never understand your ways and your plans, but thank you for your care and your knowing what is best for us.

I loved those lyrics, too.
Michael W. Smith wrote them after meeting his stillborn son, Noah.

I didn't know the circumstances but I figured as much. Part of why I think that the lyrics touched me so. I had never heard the song before, but my husband had and remembered it the day we said hello and goodbye to Micah. All I have to say is it stinks being part of this club.
