Yes that is a PREEMIE DIAPER and a Normal sucker that the hospital gives you.
Our Zane was born at 29 weeks weighing in at 2 lbs 14.2 oz. He was so tiny but we did not know any better. We were told all these things that could happen and some of the challenges facing him. But again we did not know any better. I did not know what a preemie held in store and when I did start doing the research, a little late, Zane did not show the signs. I did not fully understand the corrected weight. And our pediatrician did not correct him or worry about his weight or development. I think she saw how he was developing and did not put undue stress on me. So thank you Dr. L!
So what do I see today.
A little man who is inquisitive, adventurous, intelligent, and loving. One who is learning everyday faster than I can keep up. A little man who does things when he is ready. A little man who loves his Daddy, knows when Mommy is having a hard day and thinking of Micah. Adores his grandparents, and LOVES animals. He can throw and hit better than many 5 and 6 year olds. Is very fast and already has great running form (not that mommy would not notice). A little man who is almost 30 lbs, over 3 feet tall and knows what he likes and does not like. Did I mention, he has already walked down the aisle with a girl (see the last picture). A little man that wants to do things for "two hours!" Enjoys building towers and houses with blocks and Lincoln Logs, wants to swing higher than Mommy would like him to. Who always wants to help Mommy bake cookies, just so he can sample. Then wants to test the cookies when they are done. Eats Cheez-Its the same way his Aunt T does, and has never been around her when she eats them.
So Zane, as you turn three, know that your Mommy and Daddy love you very much and can't wait to see what the next year holds. Just remember not to grow up too fast.
